“It is positive to hear the government say that it has ‘heard the message’ from campaigners on the importance of fraudulent paid-for advertising being included in the Online Safety Bill. The growing epidemic of online scams continues to cause devastating emotional and financial effects on victims.
“The government must now ensure it includes paid-for advertising in the Online Safety Bill to make online platforms use their highly sophisticated technology to tackle harmful content on their sites effectively.”
