Which? response to DfT rail compensation stats

Alex Hayman, Which? Managing Director of Public Markets, said:

“Although the compensation paid out by train companies is rising, thousands of passengers have told us that they’ve struggled with cancellations, grim conditions on trains and delays that can have a huge impact on their lives.

“Our research has shown that over seven million passenger journeys were seriously delayed last year, but not enough people are being told of their rights to claim compensation. Automatic compensation should be introduced across the industry so all passengers can get the money they are owed.”
