Alex Hayman, Which? Managing Director of Public Markets, said:
“This has been nothing but incompetence on all levels. Not only have train companies demonstrated a failure to plan, engage and implement timetable changes, but they are now failing to offer effective enough solutions for passengers.
“Train companies need to take immediate action to get a grip on the chaos and properly compensate customers – this should include providing additional compensation for long suffering season ticket holders.
“Government can no longer ignore the need to introduce automatic compensation for all train passengers.”
