New Which? CEO announced

Which? is pleased to announce the appointment of Anabel Hoult as its new Chief Executive.

Anabel will lead the Which? group, the brand name of the Consumers’ Association, in its mission to make consumers as powerful as the organisations they deal with in their daily lives.

Anabel joins Which? from a background of delivering transformational growth and improved operational performance in a range of sectors including retail, consumer services, fintech and the charity sector. Most recently at Dixons Carphone Warehouse plc she led the transformation of their merged services business. As Chief Operating Officer at Save the Children UK she implemented a successful five-year strategy to double impact for children, increase revenues and build supporter engagement.

She joins Which? on 1 October 2018.

Anabel succeeds Peter Vicary-Smith who has led the organisation since 2004 through a successful period of significant growth and is leaving to pursue a portfolio career.

Tim Gardam, Chair of Which? Council of Trustees, said of the appointment: “Anabel has a compelling blend of commercial and charitable experience and under her stewardship we look forward to making an even greater impact, championing the interests of all consumers in a digital economy.”

Judy Gibbons, Chair of Which? Limited Board, said of the appointment: “Anabel’s customer focus, her first class strategic and operational credentials, combined with digital expertise and an innovation mindset are exactly what Which? needs during this next period of exciting transformation.”

Anabel Hoult said: “I am proud to be joining Which? to continue developing its role and reach as a consumer champion at this pivotal point in its history.”
