Which? response to Government publishing our application for super-complainant status

Which? executive director, Richard Lloyd, said:

“Giving consumer groups more powers to bring super complaints in financial services will help prevent rip-offs like mass mis-selling before they get out of control.

“Consumers have suffered too many financial scandals and that’s why we need a regulator who proactively seeks out problems, responds to evidence from consumers and takes action against bad practice.”

Notes to editors:

Which? has made 5 super-complaints to the Office of Fair Trading. Our most recent super-complaint was made in March 2011 on payment method surcharging, and led to the successful banning of excessive credit and debit card surcharges.
