“Good to see Heidi Allen MP championing this issue in Parliament” – Which? response to the second reading of the Higher Education (Information) Private Member’s Bill
Which? executive director, Richard Lloyd, said:
“Which? has been calling for better information for students, so it’s good to see Heidi Allen MP championing this issue in Parliament. With cross party consensus for greater transparency in higher education, we now want the Government to help prospective students make an informed choice.”
Background:
Which? called for and is backing Heidi Allen MP’s Bill, which would require universities to include better information in the Key Information Set (KIS). Currently, the KIS lacks in providing information on what students will actually receive from their academic offer, such as the number and type of teaching hours and qualifications of staff. Improving access to information would help prospective students make a more informed choice on the academic offer, costs and financial support, and assist them with future employment opportunities.
