Response to calls for a licensing scheme for bankers

In response to Labour’s calls today to amend the Banking Reform Bill to include a licensing scheme for bankers,

Which? executive director Richard Lloyd said:

“Consumers have been let down by banks for too long. That’s why we want all parties to support a fully independent code of conduct, backed by statute, with genuine sanctions for malpractice. This is an essential part of the big change needed in banking, with banks that work for customers, not bankers.”
