“This industry investment to help the UK’s broken cash landscape is a positive step – but it will only plug some of the gaps left by widespread bank branch and cashpoint closures.
“The sheer scale of requests coming in from all corners of the country shows that entire communities have been cut off from accessing cash and left struggling to go about their daily lives.
“The confusing array of schemes intended to fix the cash crisis can only go so far. The new government should seize the opportunity to introduce legislation that protects access to cash for as long as it is needed.”
