Which? comments as France tightens entry rules for UK travellers

Rory Boland, Which? Travel Editor, said:

“The timing of these sudden changes to restrictions for travel to and from France will cause chaos for huge numbers of people just as the summer holidays are beginning.

“Those who have just arrived in France will now face quarantine on their return, while anyone due to travel there imminently needs to decide whether their holiday can still go ahead. Many will struggle to get a refund or claim on their insurance.

“These changes are a reminder that travelling this summer comes with considerable risk. Given the very late notice, travel companies should make every effort to support affected holidaymakers and provide them with clear information about their options, allowing customers due to visit France the chance to rebook or get a refund if they can no longer travel.”
