Which? comments as government provides initial response to CMA’s review into private testing system
Gareth Shaw, Which? Head of Money, said:
“Which? has repeatedly raised the alarm over the private testing system with the government, which has too often left travellers out of pocket and, in some cases, without a test result.
“It’s right that the Health Secretary has announced tougher measures, including fines for providers if they mislead consumers, and the government’s review into the CMA’s recommendations must ensure safe, reliable and affordable tests are available for all travellers. Meanwhile, the regulator must continue to come down strongly on any providers not following the rules, to send a clear message to the rest of the market and prevent any more travellers being left out of pocket.”
