Which? comments as trade talks with Australia and New Zealand begin
Sue Davies, Head of Consumer Protection and Food Policy at Which?, said:
“There are many potential benefits to be gained from trade deals with Australia and New Zealand. Ultimately, their success will be judged by the impact they have on the price, choice and safety of products and services we use everyday so any deals must reflect consumers’ expectations.
“We know people value the UK’s high standards and protections and expect them to be maintained, so the government must ensure they are not undermined by trade deals that could allow inferior or unsafe food or products to enter the country or weaken consumer rights.”
