Which? comments on calls to reduce the cost of tests for travel
Rory Boland, Which? Travel Editor, said:
“It’s reassuring that the government hopes to bring down the price of tests for international travel, however the high cost of testing is just one of many issues with the travel testing system. Misleading prices and rogue operators that cannot deliver on the services they claim to offer put travellers at risk of losing out not just on the cost of their tests, but the cost of their flight or holiday if they do not have the results when they need to travel.
“If the government is committed to improving the private testing market for travellers, it must act quickly to remove any operators that are misleading or ripping off customers from its list of providers. The regulator must also come down strongly on any firms found to be breaking consumer law to send a clear message that they cannot continue to act with impunity.”
