Which? comments on the CMA’s market study of Google’s and Apple’s mobile ecosystems

Rocio Concha, Director of Policy and Advocacy at Which?, said:

“Our research has consistently found that leaving a few tech giants unchecked to take advantage of their position can lead to higher prices and less choice for consumers, so it is positive that the regulator is launching this market study.

“It’s good news that the CMA will use this opportunity to inform the development of the Digital Markets Unit and the new pro-competition regime for digital markets. But ultimately to achieve its aims, the government must ensure it gives the DMU the powers it needs to promote effective competition.”
