Which? responds as the Virgin Media O2 hyperfast broadband rollout passes 10m homes

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

“The rollout of gigabit-capable broadband is critical for upgrading the UK’s digital infrastructure, so it is positive that Virgin Media O2 has expanded its network to ensure more households have access to these reliable connections.

“However, there is low demand among consumers and businesses for these better networks, which could hinder the rollout – this must be addressed to ensure everyone can take advantage of them.

“As highlighted through the work that Which? did with the rest of the Gigabit Take-up Advisory Group, a collaborative approach – including government, Ofcom, industry and consumer and business groups – is needed to help address the barriers that are preventing consumers from benefiting from better connections.”
