Which? responds to Liz Truss’ comments that Australian trade deal will be an “exemplar” for other nations

Sue Davies, Head of Consumer Protection and Food Policy at Which?, said:

“There is huge potential for a trade deal between the UK and Australia to be an ‘exemplar,’ which brings choice and better value goods and services for consumers, and has a positive impact on their daily lives.

“The government must ensure that any deal meets the expectations of UK consumers by maintaining the standards and protections we know they value. These must not be undermined by trade deals that could allow inferior, unsafe food or products to enter the country or weaken consumer rights.”
