Which? responds to Ofgem data showing record numbers of people switching energy supplier
Natalie Hitchins, Which? Head of Home Products and Services, said:
“Switching is the best antidote for customers looking to avoid expensive energy tariffs and bad customer service, so it is encouraging to see record numbers of people moving to a new supplier.
“With almost a million energy customers having suffered the inconvenience of a supplier going bust in the last 18 months, the introduction of Ofgem’s more stringent entry checks are long overdue. To encourage even more people to switch, the regulator needs to ensure that consumers can have confidence that their new supplier is financially sustainable and will provide them with the service they deserve.”
