Which? responds to the news ENSTROGA, Igloo Energy and Symbio Energy are ceasing trading

Lisa Barber, Which? Home Products and Service Editor, said:

“The collapse of ENSTROGA, Igloo Energy and Symbio Energy will plunge over two hundred thousand energy customers into uncertainty, however there is no need to panic as your supply won’t be cut off and Ofgem will appoint a new energy supplier and protect any credit customers have.

“To ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, we’d recommend taking a meter reading now so you can provide it to the new energy supplier and ensure your bills are as accurate as possible. Customers are under no obligation to stay with the appointed provider and should consider shopping around, once they’ve moved to the new supplier. Due to rising wholesale prices there are few cheap deals on the market, however customers may still find competitive fixed-rate tariffs that can offer some stability during these uncertain times.”

Customers can compare energy deals with Which? Switch, a transparent and impartial way to find the best gas and electricity supplier for you. It displays all available tariffs for providers, big and small, even if Which? doesn’t currently have a commercial switching agreement with them.
