Which? responds to Tui extending cancellation of holidays to Spain
Rory Boland, Editor of Which? Travel, said:
“With many holidaymakers unable to travel to Spain because of quarantine rules on their return, Tui has understandably extended its cancellation of holidays there. As these are package holidays, customers will be due a full refund and Tui will need some time to handle these. Customers may need to be understanding if it doesn’t meet the 14-day legal requirement to refund.
“In turn, Tui must do a far better job than it has done with previous cancellations in giving a clear timeframe for paying money back, and must not issue credit notes to customers who have requested a cash refund.
“The government must work more closely with the travel industry so that tour operators and airlines can better manage these changing requirements, and holidaymakers aren’t caught between following government advice or potentially losing the money for their holiday.”
