Which? response as government’s Agriculture Bill concessions are accepted by peers
Sue Davies, Head of Consumer Protection at Which?, said:
“While it’s good to see Parliamentary scrutiny of trade deals being improved, British consumers will be disappointed that the Agriculture Bill has not been amended to ensure future food imports meet UK standards.
“The government needs to show it is serious about protecting food standards by ensuring the Trade and Agriculture Commission’s membership changes so that the needs and concerns of millions of consumers – who will ultimately judge the success of new trade deals – are properly represented.”
