Which? response as ‘super committee’ created to examine draft Online Safety Bill

Rocio Concha, Which? Director of Policy and Advocacy, said:

“Stopping scammers from hooking in victims with adverts on some of the world’s biggest online platforms should be an absolute priority – but as it stands the Online Safety Bill fails to address scam adverts which have such devastating financial and emotional consequences.

“The case for including scam adverts in the Online Safety Bill is overwhelming, with businesses, regulators, consumer groups and many MPs all agreeing urgent action is needed. It is vital that the government seizes the opportunity to act now.”
