Which? response to announcement of compensation for Thameslink and Great Northern Rail passengers

Alex Hayman, Which? Managing Director of Public Markets, said:

“This one-off compensation is long overdue recognition of the huge disruption that so many Great Northern commuters have been suffering for too long now.

“But other passengers are still at the mercy of a patchy and confusing compensation system when they try to claim what they are owed for delays and cancellations.

“Government must ensure that this level of disruption never happens again. It must also urgently introduce automatic compensation for all passengers as part of the solution to these unacceptable problems on the railways.”
