Which? response to FCO warning against travel to China
Adam French, Which? Consumer Rights Expert, said
“With the Foreign and Commonwealth Office warning against all but essential travel, those with trips planned to China will rightly be concerned about what to do next.
“In these circumstances, your tour operator should get in touch to cancel your trip and offer you a refund. You are also likely to be covered for cancellation by your travel insurance.”
Which? advice on travel
-
If the FCO says it’s unsafe to travel, most tour operators will cancel your trip and find you a suitable equivalent holiday or give you a refund.
-
If your tour operator refuses you can argue that your enjoyment and relaxation will be ruined and that you’d be entitled to compensation under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements 2018.
