Which? response to food labelling talks
In response to the Government announcement of a new food labelling consultation, Which? Executive Director, Richard Lloyd, says:
“It’s good that the Government is putting nutrition labelling back on the agenda. Tackling the growing obesity crisis demands strong leadership by Ministers to make sure that after years of excuses all food companies use the best labelling system for consumers.
“Independent research by Which? and others shows that traffic light colour coding is the best way for people to make informed, healthier choices about what they eat. Some companies are already using this system but we want to see the Government direct all retailers and manufacturers to use it on all their labels.”
