“This situation is a national embarrassment. The changes designed to improve punctuality have backfired spectacularly, and once again it’s passengers who have to face the consequences.
“Northern needs to do all it can to compensate passengers for this unacceptable disruption. The Government can no longer sit on its hands and watch this chaos play out and must take action to address this now.”
