“It’s positive the government is pressing ahead with much-needed regulation of online platforms. However, there are a number of areas not covered by these proposals where consumers are increasingly suffering serious harm.
“The government must urgently outline plans to tackle the growing numbers of people losing life-changing sums of money to online scams, unwittingly purchasing unsafe products from online marketplaces and being deceived by fake and misleading reviews.”
